Nivalis Nights Recipes, Ingredients & Cooking Guide
How recipes, ingredients, kitchen equipment, customization and food freshness work in Nivalis Nights.
Last verified: October 1, 2026 ยท Community-reported details may change after patches.
Quick answer: How to get recipes: learn them through quests, NPC conversations, eating at restaurants, visiting new locations and other observed route rewards. Official material lists 190 meals and more than 240 ingredients, but no official 190-item recipe catalogue exists. Use Customize Recipe only on entries that show that option, then choose compatible ingredient replacements from the game's UI. Update #2 says cooking now prioritizes older ingredients first, reducing rotten food pressure.
How to get recipes
Recipes are reported from quest rewards, NPC interactions, restaurant visits, new locations and other route discoveries. Treat unlisted dishes as unverified until a repeatable source, screenshot, patch note or in-game test confirms the unlock.
Recipe customization
Only recipes that display Customize Recipe in menu management should be treated as customizable. Ingredient replacement is constrained by the game's replacement UI, so swap only compatible items shown there; do not assume every dish can be renamed or freely rebuilt.

How cooking works
Open a learned recipe at its compatible appliance and supply every listed ingredient. Official examples include Gyudon, Stinky Tofu, Subland, Sweet Waffle, Cola Chicken, Summer Salad, Meridian Pizza, VegCoffee and Nigiri. Categories span meat, seafood, salads, sandwiches, pizza, soups, desserts, snacks and drinks.
Cocoa Powder and Liquid Nitrogen
Liquid Nitrogen is community-reported at the chemistry shop in the Industrial District, beside the purchasable restaurant. A guaranteed Cocoa Powder storefront has not been verified as of October 1, 2026; some players report a manager can obtain it, but that is a workaround, not a confirmed vendor.
Avoid wasted stock
Keep perishables refrigerated, buy to the next service rather than theoretical capacity, and compost spoiled food where available. Verify the required appliance before buying bulk stock; a compact menu with overlapping ingredients reduces both cash lock-up and waste.
